81-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Dump Truck
The crash was reported Friday morning.

BAY SHORE, NY - An 81-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a dump truck in Bay Shore Friday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
Gerald Hautman, of Jet Sanitation, was operating a 2010 Mack dump truck, traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway South Service Road near Redmond Avenue when the vehicle struck Gloria Prietto, of Bay Shore, at 11:10 a.m., police said.
Prietto was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Hautman, 41, of Huntington Station was uninjured and remained at the scene, police said.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
