Officer Pulls Two From Overturned Minivan on Sunrise Highway
BREAKING: A police officer came to the rescue after a minivan overturned on Sunrise Highway Tuesday afternoon.

BAY SHORE, NY - A Suffolk police officer pulled two people from an overturned vehicle in Bay Shore on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, at about 1:40 p.m. a Dodge minivan was traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway near Exit 43 when the driver of the minivan stopped short for a car in front of him and lost control of the vehicle.
The minivan struck the median and overturned, police said.

Highway Patrol Officer Michael Becker responded and assisted the driver and passenger out of the vehicle.
Becker climbed into a back window that was broken in the crash and pulled the driver, a 41-year-old Patchogue resident, out through the window, police said.

He then unbuckled the seat belt and carried the passenger, a 28-year-old Patchogue man, over the seat and out through the window, police said.
Both were transported to Southside Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
