45th Annual Italian Festival Returns to Port Washington September 10–13
The John Michael Marino Lodge No. 1389 is proud to invite the community to its 45th Annual Italian Festival, a Port Washington tradition featuring authentic Italian cuisine, live entertainment, carnival rides, fireworks, shopping, and family fun.
The festival will be held at North Hempstead Beach Park, 175 West Shore Road, Port Washington, from Thursday, September 10, through Sunday, September 13, 2026. 
Festival Hours
Thursday, September 10: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Friday, September 11: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Saturday, September 12: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday, September 13: Noon – 9:00 PM
Festival-goers can enjoy a wide variety of authentic Italian favorites, including pasta dishes, the festival's famous meatball heroes, eggplant heroes, rice balls, sausage and peppers, and many additional offerings from specialty food vendors, including tacos and traditional festival fare.
The popular pastry tent will feature fresh cannoli, Italian pastries, cappuccinos, espresso, coffee, and the festival favorite—hot, freshly made zeppole.
The entertainment lineup offers something for everyone:
Thursday: DJ and Live Karaoke
Friday: Decadia performing from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Saturday: Live music from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by Any Way You Want It from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Sunday: Italian Band, Accordion Player and&nbsp;popular music from Noon until 9:00 PM
A spectacular fireworks display is scheduled for Saturday evening at approximately 9:00 PM.
Blue Sky Amusements will once again provide a wide selection of carnival rides for children and adults. Pay-One-Price wristbands will be available all four days, allowing unlimited rides during designated sessions.
In addition to the food and entertainment, visitors can browse a variety of vendor booths offering jewelry, specialty merchandise, crafts, and unique gifts.
Admission is free, with parking just $5 per vehicle. Food, rides, and Pay-One-Price wristbands are available for purchase.

Older adults and their families will gain information about recognizing fraud and protecting their personal information. Registration will take place on the day of the event from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by the presentation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Parker Auditorium. Light refreshments will be served.Participants will learn:

Parker Jewish Institute to Host ‘Shielding Seniors’ Workshop on Preventing Scams and Identity Theft

Bayside Historical Society

The Bayside Historical Society will celebrate the milestone Silver Anniversary of its annual Totten Trot 5K Foot Race and Kids' Fun Run in 2026. What began as a humble gathering of just 12 runners at Fort Totten Park has grown into a vibrant community event, bringing together more than 300 runners — along with their families and teams — for an unforgettable day.
Our Totten Trot 5K Foot Race is a Halloween-themed, waterfront course in historic Fort Totten Park on Little Neck Bay in Bayside, a pristine stretch surrounding a preserved Civil War fortress. Runners will pass through the Historic District, which consists of buildings dating to the late 1800s. The Fort is situated where the Long Island Sound meets the East River at the Throgs Neck Bridge. The race starts and finishes at the landmarked Officers' Club, home of Bayside Historical Society. The course includes a loop out onto Little Bay Path to the Throgs Neck Bridge and back to the Fort. Timing and scoring are provided by elitefeats on a USATF Certified Course. Registration begins at 7:30am; the race starts at 9:00am.
The Kids' Fun Run is a short-distance sprint for tiny tots and kids up to 12, grouped by age category. Special “Cookie Medals” for participants in the Fun Run! Sign up on race day; the race starts at 10:00am.
Halloween costumes are highly encouraged for adults and kids!
Entry Fees (including processing fees): $28.63 through midnight August 26; price increases to $33.80 on August 27, to $38.98 on October 11, and to $44.15 on Race Day.
SPECIAL GUESTS: BHS is excited to welcome back the 501st Legion's Empire City Garrison, a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization, for a special guest appearance at the Totten Trot's silver anniversary event. Don't miss the chance to pose for photos with some of your favorite Star Wars characters!
