BROOKLYN, NY — A Brooklyn cab driver accused of raping a 12-year-old in the backseat of his car threatened the girl with a gun and beat her unconscious before the assault, prosecutors say.
Rafael Martinez — who was arrested Tuesday for the horrific crime — pulled over and climbed into the backseat with the girl twice while driving her from Fort Greene to Bed-Stuy on Monday evening, according to court records. Her parents had called her a cab to bring her home from a relative's house, according to reports.
The first time Martinez stopped, he pulled the car over on Bergen Street and took a gun out of his glove compartment, prosecutors said.
