See It: Man Strikes 78-Year-Old Woman's Head In Brooklyn
Video shows a man suddenly strike an elderly woman in the head as he walked past her on Broadway in Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — A 78-year-old woman's stroll down Broadway in Brooklyn got painfully interrupted when a man suddenly struck her head, authorities said.
NYPD called the June 10 altercation an assault and is looking for the public's help identifying the man.
Video released by police shows a man walk down Broadway near Park Street. He swings his arms as he approaches the woman. He throws his fist out to the side, striking the woman in the head.

The man stopped and appears surprised after he hit the woman. He can been seen talking to her as she clutches her head in pain.
NYPD described the incident as an "unknown individual" who approached the woman and "with a closed fist punched her in the head before fleeing to parts unknown."

The woman refused medical attention despite suffering "substantial pain," police said.
The incident took place between Bushwick and Bed-Stuy.
The encounter recalls other recent police-highlighted incidents in which elderly New Yorkers apparently suffered violence.
Police recently arrested a man they said shoved a 92-year-old woman to the ground in Gramercy Park. In another incident, a 74-year-old man was mugged by two men in his Washington Heights apartment building.
