11 Wins And Counting For Hudson Valley 'Jeopardy!' Champ

He faces two new contestants on Wednesday evening's program.

POUND RIDGE, NY — He just keeps on winning. For the 11th time, Westchester native Austin Rogers bested two competitors on the popular game show “Jeopardy!” On the show that was scheduled to air Tuesday, Oct. 10 (locally it was shown in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 11), he won $29,300, bringing his total to $394,700.

The Final Jeopardy answer for which Rogers and one other contestant provided the right question was in the category of 20th Century Novels. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

The answer: The protagonist of this novel “was fairly sure that his age was 39, and he believed that he had been born in 1944 or 1945.”

Rogers was raised in Pound Ridge and is currently living in Manhattan, working as a bartender.

Fun Fact: Rogers said he commutes to work on a bicycle named Spokey Robinson.

On the program scheduled to air Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., Rogers will face retired high school teacher Lisa Rhae Burgess from Surfside Beach, SC and State Department contractor Brian Kato from Washington, DC.

“Jeopardy!” is broadcast on WABC-TV Channel 7.
