Local girls hoop players shine

Fox Lane lost a thrilling girls basketball game at Briarcliff Dec. 13 in overtime 56-55.

Allison Lombardi starred for the Foxes, scoring 21 points, including a 3-pointer that forced overtime. For her efforts, she was honored by Rob Cristino on the LoHud Girls Basketball Blog with a "clutch award."

Lombardi's teammate Julia Raue also was sensational, pouring in a game-high 23 points.

also played on the same day and won 66-29 against visiting R.C. Ketcham.

John Jay's Raegan Knox tallied a game-high 25 points and teammate Jen Oddo recorded 19 points.

John Jay boys win

Led by Matt Ferentini's game-high 15 points, John Jay's boys basketball team won at Yorktown 48-34 Dec. 12.

Foxes fall on ice

Fox Lane's ice hockey team lost to host ETB 8-2 Dec. 12.

Harry Woodhull and Matt Stewart scored for the Foxes.
