Winter teams get started this week

If you are wondering why there has been a buzz in the air this week, it's because the Fox Lane and John Jay varsity and JV winter teams all began practice (except for ice hockey, which began Nov. 7) on Nov. 14 for their upcoming winter seasons.

The Bedford Bears Bantam A ice-hockey squad lost to Southern Connecticut 6-5 at the Harvey School on Nov. 13.

Bedford's next game is against visiting Pelham at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

Local youngsters to hoop it up in Brewster

The Bedford Ballers will play the Whalers at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 in the Super Boys Basketball Sixth Grade League at the Brewster Sports Center.
