The Playhouse is entering its final round of capital fundraising this month to generate the remaining funds needed to complete renovations, the goal of which is to transform the facility into a cutting-edge arts house cinema and community hub.

A direct mail effort will be sent to last year’s donors and new prospects, organizers said. Included will be a brochure illustrating what the new Playhouse will look like.

Playhouse Board Chairwoman Sarah Long that as the second fundraising drive starts the organization is over halfway to reaching its goal.

“So far these funds have allowed us to secure the space, hire an architect and a small staff, and complete pre-construction work and demolition,” she said. “This first stage also got us to a more informed budget. We now know what we need to finish the work and open with confidence.”
