Bedford Wants Residents to Take Pre-Emergency Planning Survey

The five-minute survey is designed to give firefighter information to keep people safer.

BEDFORD, NY — To better protect homes in the Bedford Hills Fire Department area, fire officials would like people to complete a brief survey.

The purpose of the five-minute online Pre-Emergency Planning Survey is to give the fire department information that could help them respond to an emergency at residents’ homes.

Answering the questions will give firefighters information as to whether any people in the dwelling have difficulty moving, anyone relies on oxygen therapy or medical devices and how many pets live in the building.

The survey also asks people to describe the type of dwelling, the basement, the length of the driveway and, importantly, the location of water sources on or near the structure and whether fire engines can access them.
