The best in local boys and girls basketball, from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and southern Dutchess, will be competing at the Westchester County Center in White Plains Feb. 27-March 4 in the Section 1 semifinals and finals for the right to hoist the Gold Ball.
From this neck of the woods, No. 2 's boys basketball squad will play its Section 1 Class AA semifinal contest at 5 p.m. Friday, March 2 against No. 3 Mahopac.

Harvey vs. Christian Heritage
On Wednesday, February 15th the Harvey JV Boys’ Basketball team lost to Christian Heritage 76-29. Playing at a disadvantage of age and size, the Cavaliers fought hard and were able to increase their scoring from 12 points in the first half to 17 in the second half.
Lead scorer for Harvey was Jake Berkson with 12 points. Others getting into the scoring column were Andrew Schwartz (7), Josh Gannt (4), and Tom Smith, Jabhari Taylor, and Ben Alper, each with 2 points.
Harvey vs. Soundview
On Tuesday, February 14th the Harvey JV Boys’ Basketball team defeated Soundview 61-44. While only outpacing Soundview by two points at the end of the first quarter, the Cavaliers stepped up their game and outscored the opposition in each of the succeeding quarters, winning their highest-scoring game of the season so far.
This was also the first game for the team this year where three players scored in double-digits. Lead scorer for Harvey was Andrew Schwartz with 12 points, followed by Austin Forman with 11, including three 3-pointers, and Jake Berkson with 11. Others scoring for Harvey were Harry Solomon and Sam Mackiewicz, each with 7 points, as well as Tom Smith (4), Jabhari Taylor (4), Matt Lewis (3), and Andrew Bowers (2).
