Bedford Chamber Concerts presents celebrated violinist Cho-Liang Lin and renowned keyboardist Anthony Newman performing Beethoven Sonatas for Violin and Piano, Opus 30.
Since his début at Lincoln Center at the age of nineteen, the Taiwan born Mr. Lin has appeared with virtually every major orchestra in the world.
Named “Instrumentalist of the Year” for 2000 by Musical America, the Los Angeles Times calls Mr. Lin’s playing “[a] rare combination of virtuosity and humanity...”, the New York Times calls it “dazzling,” and the Houston Post says, “Soloist Cho-Liang Lin produced a pure tone, playing the music brilliantly, lyrically and with a sense of its stately beauty.”

Mr. Lin joins renowned musician Anthony Newman, whom the Washington Post called “one of the great keyboardists of our time.”
The three violin and piano sonatas of Beethoven’s Opus 30, composed in 1802, were dedicated to Tsar Alexander I. They were written during a period when Beethoven was forced to face the inevitability of his growing deafness and after a crisis of spirit in which he recommitted himself to his music.
