Katonah Museum of Art Book Club

The KMA Book Club meets once during each new exhibition.  Our next selection is Art Lover: A Biography of Peggy Guggenheim by Anton Gill.  Guggenheim’s tempestuous life (1898-1979) spanned the most exciting and volatile years of the 20th century, and she lived it fully.  In this highly engaging book, readers are vividly transported into Guggenheim’s world and that of the artists she cultivated and supported.  Meet her husbands and lovers, who included Max Ernst and Yves Tanguy.  Meticulously researched, filled with colorful anecdotes, and boasting a distinguished cast, Gill’s biography reveals the inner drives of a remarkable woman and indefatigable arts patron.

Copies of the book are available at the Katonah Village Library.
