The Katonah Museum of Art seeks volunteers to train for their Docent Program. A background in the arts is not necessary, just enthusiasm and an interest in volunteering and enriching children's imaginations.
An integral part of the Museum’s mission to “promote the understanding and enjoyment of the arts for visitors of all ages,” KMA Docents lead varied and interesting tours tailored for adult and school groups. These intensive, college-level training sessions include insightful, information-packed lectures that fully immerse volunteers in each exhibition. Upcoming exhibitions for the 2011-2012 school year include New York, New York! The 20th Century, featuring artwork documenting the spirit and culture of New York City, and The Sleeping Dragon Rises: Contemporary Chinese Photography.
