Meet and Greet Local Artist Susan Stillman at Opening Reception – Saturday March 19th – 1-3pm

The newest art exhibit at Country Estates & Manors Real Estate Lounge features the awesome art of local artist Susan Stillman. Her dramatic paintings, acrylic on canvas, of regional landscapes is on view during office hours through the end of April.  Meet and greet Susan at the opening reception on Saturday, March 19th, from 1-3 pm.Country Estates & Manors Real Estate Lounge in Katonah. Susan Stillman is best known as the area’s preeminent Home Portrait artist, commissioned to portray many of Westchester and Connecticut’s finest homes on canvas.  The paintings on view represent her personal work, the result of her passionate exploration of light effects combining both landscape and architectural elements found in her environment.

Visiting the show gives the viewer a wonderful opportunity to see art in context, as opposed to the blank white walls of a gallery.  Glimpses of color framed by a doorway entice. Paintings create defined areas of focus and poke illusory windows through solid walls, expanding the sense of space.

Susan has a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, an MFA from Brooklyn College and spent a year in Rome studying painting.  She has been a member of the faculty of the Parsons School of Design since 1983.  Her work can be viewed on her web site
