J.K. Rowling created her magical world with its own magical sport played on flying brooms. This month marks the release of the last Harry Potter movie, but the world lives on.
Quidditch, the wizarding world’s favorite sport, now has Muggle (human) rules as created and developed by the International Quidditch Association and on Monday, July 25 at 4 pm, local Muggles can enjoy an Exhibition Match of the rough and tumble sport (played on brooms!) on the Bedford Hills Elementary School field courtesy of the Bedford Hills Free Library.
In October of 2009, Middlebury College of Middlebury, VT played the first Muggle Quidditch Match. The sport has now grown to have its own International Quiddich Association which hosts National and International competitions according to established, international rules. The International Quidditch Association has an office in Bedford Hills and is graciously supplying the equipment, including official brooms from Alivan’s Wand Shop.

There will also be a bake sale and donation table for visitors to help raise needed funds for the library. For more information, contact the Library at 914-666-6472.
