Spuyten Duyvil's Alternative Roots sound wanders the last 100 years of American music conjuring embittered civil war veterans, recalcitrant small town bawds, suicidal bureaucrats, star crossed lovers and brave hearted fools navigating the mysteries of daily life. The group, based in Yonkers NY, consists of Mark Steven Miller (Tenor Guitar, Bouzouki), Beth Kaufman (Vocals), Tom Socol (Guitar, Dobro), Sarah Banks (Fiddle and Vocals), Jim Meigs (Harmonica), Lou Geser (Drums), and John Neidhart (Bass). The group has established a growing following in the Hudson Valley and beyond. Winners of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase in 2010, they will be appearing on the festival's main stage in 2011.
