The Art of Picture Books

Be inspired by the picture book. Neil Waldman, writer and illustrator of more than 50 children’s books, will lead a hands-on workshop that explores the power of picture-book illustration. Mr. Waldman will talk about the creation of some of his books, discuss how to help students gain a deeper understanding of the art of picture books, and introduce participants to innovative watercolor techniques for classroom use. He will also tell the inspiring story of the Fred Dolan Art Academy, the school he has created for underprivileged artists in the Bronx.

$35 member, $40 non-members, includes $10 materials fee. Advance registration required. Please RSVP (914) 232-9555 ext. 0; or education@katonahmuseum.org for all educators’ programs.
