Flash Flood Watch Issued Thursday for Parts of Hudson Valley
There is the potential for heavy rainfall from Thursday evening into Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for much of the lower Hudson Valley.
The watch is in effect from 8 p.m. Thursday through 6 p.m. Friday for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move into the region from the west early Thursday evening and will be over the entire region by late Thursday night.

They will continue Friday morning and begin to taper off from west to east during the afternoon.

While the area of the heaviest rain remains uncertain, total rainfall of 2 to 4 inches in the lower Hudson Valley is possible.
A flash flood watch mean that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
The watch does not apply to Ulster or Dutchess counties.
