Fox Lane Named to Advanced Placement School Honor Roll
The high school was recognized for student success in the Advanced Placement program as well as showing a commitment to equitable access
College Board announced that Fox Lane High School has been named to the 2023 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning Silver distinction.
The AP® School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
Fox Lane High School had 62% of seniors taking at least one AP exam during high school, 57% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 16% of seniors taking five or more AP exams!

The school also received the 2023 Access Award. Trevor Packer, College Board Senior Vice President of AP and Instruction, said that this award “honors schools that demonstrate a clear and effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.”
The award is only granted to AP School Honor Roll recipients whose percentage of AP Exam takers who are underrepresented minority and/or low-income students mirrors the school's overall student demographics. For example, if 50% of a school's student body is low-income, then 50% of the AP Exam takers must also be low-income for a school to receive the AP Access Award.

“AP represents an opportunity for students to stand out to colleges, earn college credit and placement, and potentially boost their grade point averages,” said Packer. “The schools recognized have shown that they can expand access to these college-level courses and still drive high performance – they represent the best of our AP program.”
Fox Lane Principal Dr. Jennifer Amos is proud of the school’s program.
“We offer a wide array of courses at Fox Lane High School that provide the type of academic rigor that students will experience in college,” Dr. Amos said. “Looking at the Advanced Placement exams alone, last year 399 Fox Lane students took an average of two AP exams each. Our students did exceptionally well, with 80% scoring a 3 or higher, making these students potentially eligible for future college credit.”
