Harvey JV ice-hockey wins

We thank the Harvey JV ice-hockey coaching staff for the below submission:

Harvey JV Hockey hosted the Birch Wathen Lenox School on Friday and emerged victorious with a hard fought 3 - 2 win. Harvey controlled the game from beginning to end but the victory would not be an easy one, BWL fought every step of the way and made the Cavs earn it.

Harvey jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Freshman Tommy Gattuso assisted by Sophomore Myles Greenwald. After BWL tied the game Harvey jumped ahead 3 - 1 on goals from Eight Grader Theo Rattner and Junior Pat Taylor with assists from Freshman Joe Sorrentino, Gattuso, Sophomore Kieran O' Conner and Senior Will Schubert.

The third goal was a work of art as the forward line of Taylor, Schubert and Sophomore Charlie Seider, with assists from Defensemen Sorrentino and Gattuso kept BWL bottled up in their own zone for almost two full minutes before scoring the winning goal.  BWL scored late in the second period to cut the lead to one but Harvey played great defense in the third period for the victory.

Freshman goaltender Marcus Plummer continued his stellar play with 26 saves and was especially good in the last minutes of the game as BWL pressed for the tying goal.  Special mention to Freshman Defenseman Marc Catanese who was smart and steady all game and consistently frustrated the BWL forwards.
