Hudson Valley ShopRite Stores Recall Cookies That May Contain Metal Fragments

There are 18 ShopRite locations in the region.

BEDFORD HILLS, NY — ShopRite has issued a voluntary recall of one of its cookie products because it may contain small pieces of metal fragments.

The product — Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Salted Caramel Cookies made by Country Home — were sold at ShopRite stores in its Fresh Bake department, the Food and Drug Administration said.

The cookies were sold in 12- and 24-count packages between July 19 and Aug. 4.

They may also be part of the 12- and 24-count variety packages of cookies.

Affected items have the following information noted on their labels: Name: Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Salted Caramel Cookies, UPC 28978500000, UPC 28977600000; Gourmet Variety Pack Cookies, UPC 38978600000 and UPC 28977200000.

No injuries related to the recall have been reported.

ShopRite said it has reached out to Price Plus Club customers by phone and email to alert them to the recall.

The grocery chain urges customers to keep their Price Plus Club information up to date so they can be contacted if necessary.

Customers can return the cookies to the store for an immediate refund or replacement.

In Westchester County, ShopRite has stores in White Plains, Scarsdale, Tuckahoe, Thornwood, Bedford Hills, New Rochelle, Croton-on-Hudson and Cortlandt Manor.

In Rockland County, there are stores in West Nyack, Pearl River, New City and Stony Point.

Putnam County has a store in Carmel, and Ulster has a ShopRite in New Paltz. In Orange County, there is a store in Newburgh.

There are three ShopRites in Dutchess County: Poughkeepsie, Fishkill and LaGrangeville.
