John Jay HS Student-Run 'One Acts' Set To Bring Down The House
Dozens of students have worked tirelessly to prepare for a stage production with the scale of a festival and the intimacy of a play.

CROSS RIVER, NY — If you're a theater lover then there in only one place to be this week. If the stage isn't your cup of tea, the John Jay Theater Workshop has just the event to change your mind.
The John Jay Theater Workshop is presenting the student-run "One Acts" on Thursday and Friday in the John Jay High School theater. Shows will take start at 7 p.m., and tickets will be $5 at the door.
John Jay High School says that six seniors directed 25 students in four plays this year. The production crew will bring the total number of participating students to 40, in what the school promises to be a wonderful evening of theater.

This year’s plays included:
- "Ashes of Sylvan," an original play written and directed by Zack Pezone
- "Check, Please," by Jonathan Rand, directed by Ali Lustig and Jessica Martin
- Tracey Scott Wilson’s "Small World," directed by Nate Greenspan and Lusi Halaifonua
- "Time Flies," by David Ives, directed by August Novak.
