Updated: Katonah 5K Race Commemorates 9/11
Race results now included with the story of local runners enjoying a run and special remembrance ceremony.
Hundreds of local runners convened at the starting line located in Katonah Memorial Park on Saturday for the Annual Katonah 5K Race.
The race also served as a special commemoration to the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, including the revealing of a beautiful spruce tree and plaque in the park. Although the race was cancelled last year, the Katonah Memorial Parks Association along with the 5K Co-Chairs worked on rerouting the race and focused it in the park this year rather than through the town.
Ben Barton, a sophomore at Fox Lane High School, placed first in the overall standings clocking in at 19 minutes and 5 seconds.
Check out the video to see some post-race reactions and hear from local runners reflect on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.
