Local DAR Remembers Veterans on Wreaths Across American Day 2023

Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR participated in Wreaths Across America Day to remember the veterans buried at the Old Burying Ground and Bedford Union cemeteries in Bedford, New York. Wreaths Across America Day is an annual event held in December, where volunteers lay wreaths at gravesites, say each Veteran’s name out loud, and remember and appreciate the sacrifices of that Veteran to protect and preserve our freedoms. Polly Cooper is a local chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a non-political women’s service organization. Each Polly Cooper Chapter Member has an ancestor who served in or aided the cause for American Independence, so being able to lay wreaths at the graves of Revolutionary War veterans was particularly moving. The Chapter is also extremely grateful to everyone who sponsored wreaths.
