Men's Hoops

Harvey graduate Steve Masiello, a White Plains native, is now coaching the men's basketball squad at Manhattan College, which is participating in the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

The Jaspers first-round game is at Albany tonight at 7 p.m.

Lax Rule Adjustments 

The Fox Lane and John Jay boys lacrosse squads will have to get used to some adjustments to the rules that are being made this year, with the biggest among them being the elimination of the 10-second count after the initial touch.

States Suspended? 

It isn't certain how many more New York State Public High School Athletic Association state tournaments will be held in the future.

That's because there has been talk about suspending state tournaments in all sports, for two years, because of financial reasons, beginning in the 2013-14 school year, according to Rich Thomaselli's fine work on MSG Varsity.
