More Swastikas Found on Katonah-Lewisboro School Property

Three students were arrested earlier this week for another incident of graffiti.

CROSS RIVER, NY — Another incident of antisemitic graffiti has occurred in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District.

In a letter sent to parents Thursday night, Superintendent Dr. Steven T. Siciliano said that swastikas were found carved on a tree at John Jay High School.

He said the Lewisboro Police were contacted immediately and an investigation has begun by the police and the high school’s administration.

“I wish to reiterate that this is reprehensible and not tolerated at JJHS or anywhere in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District,” Siciliano said.

“At the same time, I do not believe that this is indicative of the student body and community,” he said. “We will continue engaging all our students and staff to reaffirm a climate of acceptance and inclusion for all.”

On Tuesday, the State Police said three juveniles were arrested in connection with swastikas found at Lewisboro Elementary School.

In a statement, Siciliano confirmed the unnamed youths are students in the school district.
