Harvey ice-hockey

We thank the Harvey Athletic Department for the below submission of its 7-4 win:

At the Norwich Municipal Ice Rink on Friday afternoon (1/13), Harvey varsity hockey and St. Thomas More met for the second time this year.

St. Thomas More was looking to make a statement after losing to Harvey in overtime 8-7 earlier in the season in Katonah, NY.

In a much tighter, but penalty-filled game, Harvey found a way to maintain control for most of the afternoon. Carmine Totillo of St. Thomas More struck first, getting the home crowd involved just 3:29 into the first stanza. But

Harvey seniors Brett Marks and Sean Hennings each answered back with a goal to win the period 2-1. Building off of that momentum, Harvey took it to the Chancellors 3-1 in the second, started by a short-handed goal by Tim Ehlberg assisted by Ricky Schulman, who finished with two goals and three assists.

Sophomore Robert Van Raamsdonk padded the lead to 4-1 before St. Thomas More put the game back within reach on a goal by Joseph Posillico.

Schulman scored on a feed from Van Raamsdonk with just 15 seconds left in the period to send the message that it would not be easy to make a comeback.

Though St. Thomas More's Carmine Totillo responded with 2 goals in the third, Harvey also kept rolling with goals by Schulman and Marks. Freshman goalie Robbie Massimi again anchored the Cavaliers, stopping 24 of 28 shots.
