Part Of Rockefeller Estate To Be Permanently Protected
The Westchester Land Trust made the announcement about the conservation easement.

BEDFORD HILLS, NY — Sixty acres of the Hudson Pines Estate, the home of the late David and Peggy Rockefeller, will be permanently protected. The Westchester Land Trust made the announcement Wednesday, which marks the eighth conservation easement of land that the trust has completed, preserving a total of 180 acres of environmentally sensitive Rockefeller family lands in Westchester County.
Since its founding in 1988, the Westchester Land Trust has preserved almost 8,000 acres of open space including 745 acres of preserves owned by the organization which are free and open to the public year round.
The property, which is located in both the Village of Sleepy Hollow and the Town of Mount Pleasant, is important component of an already notable conservation corridor including the 1,500-acre Rockefeller State Park Preserve.
