We thank the Harvey Athletic Department for the below submission:

After stacking up two Prep victories on Wednesday (1/11) and Friday (1/13), Harvey changed gears to head down the Thruway to the annual Scarsdale Tournament held this year at Murrays in Yonkers (1/14 and 1/15).

Last year, Harvey was crowned champion of the local tournament when they defeated the host Scarsdale in the opening round and Stepinac in the final round. Although the game remained scoreless after the opening period, the Cavaliers kept their cool and stayed disciplined.

Scarsdale ultimately racked up a total of fifteen penalties to Harvey's six.  Once again, senior alternate captain Brett Marks opened up the scoring for Harvey just 1:04 into the second period on a feed from fellow senior Mike Morra.

The Raiders scored just 36 seconds later, but Robert Van Raamsdonk and Ricky Schulman fought back for the Cavaliers. Van Raamsdonk's goal came off of a remarkable individual effort that seemed to really energize Harvey.

The third period saw a second goal by Van Raamsdonk and an end to end rush by senior alternate captain defenseman Brandon Hickey to ice a convincing 5-1 victory for Harvey.

Freshman goalie Robbie Massimi was one of the stars of the game, stopping all but one of Scarsdale's twenty shots. Contributing to Massimi's continued success is a hard-working defense group led by Brandon Hickey and fellow senior Noah Vock.

In the championship game of the Scarsdale Tournament, Harvey and Monroe-Woodbury matched up so well that it took a shoot out to decide the winner. Ultimately, Monroe-Woodbury snatched the crown from Harvey, scoring twice in the shootout while Harvey came up blank.

In a back and forth game that saw two teams battling for local recognition, Harvey showed a lot of passion at the tail end of a long week. The fact that Monroe Woodbury was recently ranked 8th in the state of New York fueled a Cavalier team driven toward making an indelible mark on high school hockey in 2012.

Brett Marks scored both of Harvey's goals in the first period, the second one coming on the power play from Schulman and Hickey. Monroe-Woodbury chipped away at Harvey with a patient defensive game, fast transitions, and a hard-hitting fore-check. Going into the third period tied 2-2, Monroe Woodbury exploded for two quick goals in the final stanza of regulation play.

It took Harvey about five minutes to get going in the third, but then carried the play all the way through the overtime period after senior captain Ricky Schulman scored goals 26 and 27 on the season just one and a half minutes apart to lead the comeback charge. Unfortunately, Harvey lost the shootout decision, but freshman goalie Robbie Massimi finished off the week with 26 saves on 30 shots.
