Pianist Pavel Gintov presents Fantasies by Haydn, Beethoven, Chopin, and Scriabin in the heart of the historic Hamlet of South Salem

The Sanctuary Series, presenting some of the world’s most accomplished pianists in the pastoral setting of northern Westchester’s historic Hamlet of South Salem, continues the spring portion of its 2014-2015 season with a recital entitled “Pure Fantasy,” featuring Fantasies by Haydn, Beethoven, Chopin, and Scriabin with Ukranian-born pianist, Pavel Gintov on Sunday afternoon March 29 at 3 PM at the South Salem Presbyterian Church 111 Spring Street.
Having debuted at the Kiev Philharmonic Hall at the age of 12, rising star Pavel Gintov has been described as “a poet of the keyboard” by Marty Lash of the Illinois Entertainer and as a “musical storyteller” by the Japanese publication Shikoku News. The spring season features two other exceptional performances.
On Sunday April 19, internationally renowned keyboardist, Anthony Newman, who has been called “the high priest of Bach,” by Wynton Marsalis, will present his own transcription of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, and the Chromatic Fantasy & Fugue.
