South Salem Woman Steals from Employer, Faces Burglary Charges

A surveillance team reported they saw her enter and leave the store after hours.

LEWISBORO, NY - A South Salem woman faces seven counts of burglary for stealing from her employer, New York State Police said.

Baria Kendezi, 22, was arrested May 11 after an investigation into multiple burglaries that occurred at Greenwich Produce Market on Oakridge Drive in South Salem.

Police said that on seven different dates beginning May 4 Kendezi, who worked at the store, unlawfully entered the store after hours and took money from the cash registers.

Around 11 p.m. May 11, a state police surveillance team said they observed Kendezi approach the rear of the store and then, shortly afterward, she was seen leaving the area.

She was then detained by the investigators.

Police said she had just burglarized the market and was in possession of the cash.

Additional evidence linked Kendezi to the previous six burglaries.

She was charged with seven counts of third-degree burglary, felonies.

Kendezi was arraigned the Town of North Salem Court and sent to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.

She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lewisboro Court May 16, 2016.
