The county-wide vote takes place at residents' regular election day polling places. The referendum will decide whether the county may borrow $400 million worth of bonds to fund a new sports and entertainment complex with a new coliseum as its focal point at the Nassau Hub, home the Islanders hockey team as well as a location for a new minor league baseball team.

In North Bellmore (which includes some voters in North Merrick), general elections take place at Newbridge Road School but polling place for this vote was switched to Saw Mill Road School because of construction taking place this summer at Newbridge. The polling place in Bellmore at Winthrop Avenue School. All registered voters may vote in the referendum. Absentee ballots need to be postmarked by August 1 as well.
