Town Curbside E-Waste Pickup Day

Town of Hempstead is offering curbside pickup today for safe disposal of all unused/unwanted electronics, including computers, televisions, Monitors, DVD/VCR players, cell phones, and electronic accessories.

It is extremely important to prevent old electronics from entering the waste stream. These electronics often contain hazardous materials like mercury, lead, and arsenic, which are very harmful to the environment. The U.S. throws away over 3 million tons of electronic waste every year – adding to the volume of our landfills.

Simply leave items by the curb before 6:00 a.m. just as you would trash or recycling bins, and the Town will haul them away for proper recycling.
