In one of her letters from a former student, Maresca was described as, “An inspiration and a role model. Her caring disposition makes her classroom feel light and comfortable. I would sit in her classroom and think I want to be a great teacher like her one day.”

Maresca started her time in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District as a student teacher and intern. During her 13 years at Mepham High School, she has taught almost every single grade and academic level and a number of elective courses. She is also the advisor for Fragments, Mepham’s Literary and Art Magazine, and is the lead teacher for Poetry Out Loud.
