Father, Son Kept 18 Dogs In Deplorable Conditions: SPCA
The two men allegedly kept the 18 dogs living in feces and urine, with no access to water, the SPCA said.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A father and son were charged on Tuesday with animal cruelty for keeping 18 dogs in deplorable conditions at their Brentwood home, according to Suffolk County SPCA.
The SPCA was contacted by the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department while at a location for an eviction and responded to the home of 49-year-old Oscar Arias Sr. and 23-year-old Oscar Arias Jr. on 3rd Street.
They found that a total of 18 Shih Tzu/Poodle mixes were found to be living in feces and urine, with no access to water, the SPCA said.

The dogs were severely matted, urine soaked and had feces stuck in the matting, according to the SPCA.

Detectives arrested both men with animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance, the SPCA said. They are scheduled to appear in First District Court on August 21, 2019.
The 10 females and eight male dogs, all under the age of six, were removed from the home and transported to the Islip Animal Shelter, the SPCA said.
