• Brentwood Taxi Driver Busted With 37 License Suspensions: Police (patch.com) — Brentwood residents may be alarmed to learn that a local taxi driver was arrested on Suffolk Avenue after police say they discovered he had 37 license suspensions. Officers stopped the Crown Cars Service vehicle for a stop-sign violation before charging the Brentwood man with aggravated unlicensed operation and multiple traffic offenses, with arraignment expected at a later date.
   

• Long Island Native Plant Sale and Environmental Fair Coming to Brentwood Sept. 12-13 (town.news) — Brentwood residents can browse native plants and meet environmental groups at a two-day sale and fair Sept. 12–13 at the Sisters of St. Joseph on Brentwood Road. You'll find locally grown flowers, grasses, shrubs and trees, plus experts explaining how to make your yard more wildlife-friendly. Local organizations, including Brentwood Public Library, will share practical tips for protecting Long Island's environment.
   

• United Way Young Professionals Raise $12,000 For Stuff-A-Bus (longislandmediagroup.com) — Brentwood families at Laurel Park Elementary are seeing real benefits from United Way of Long Island's Stuff-A-Bus program, which supplies backpacks and classroom essentials. After a Summer Social fundraiser raised over $12,000, more local students will start school with the tools they need. An assistant principal from Brentwood says the donations help ensure every child is prepared from day one.
