Air Quality Alert Issued for Hudson Valley Region

Concentrations of ground-level ozone are forecast to reach the "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" category today and tonight, Sept. 2.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued the following air quality alert for our area:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the New York Metropolitan area. Concentrations of ground-level ozone are forecast to reach the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” category this afternoon and evening, September 2. Sensitive individuals, including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the afternoon and early evening hours.
