Bronxville Police Blotter: Mount Vernon Man Accused of Robbery
A look at some of the incidents investigated by the Bronxville Police Department.

Feb. 4:
3:30 p.m. A 39-year-old Mount Vernon resident was charged with robbery in the third-degree, a felony, police said. According to police, the man, Robert Ortiz, is accused of taking razor blades, gum and candy from the CVS on Pondfield Road. An officer stopped Ortiz by the train station, identified him and the property from CVS, police said. However, since CVS did not call, police released him. Police began an investigation and Ortiz was arrested on Feb. 8 in Mount Vernon. He was sent to the County Jail and is due in court on Feb. 16.

1:11 a.m. A Parkway Road resident reported to police that a party was going on in one of the apartments, police said. The group of ten 16 and 17-year-olds, which included a teen from Bronxville, and Yonkers and Mount Vernon teens, were released to their parents. Police are currently investigating the source of the alcohol and the teens could possibly face charges of possession of alcohol under 21 with the intent to consume, which is a violation of the ABC law.
10:03 p.m. A Carmel resident reported that he had stopped at the intersection of Morange Square and Palmer so that a pedestrian could cross, police said. The pedestrian didn’t go right away and then became upset and hit the car, police said. The car wasn’t damaged and the pedestrian went on their way.
