Bronxville Police Make Arrests For Mail Theft, Bank Fraud
Eight arrests were made involving seven individuals.

BRONXVILLE, NY — A seven-week investigation in Bronxville led to eight arrests, including charges for mail theft and bank fraud. The investigation centered on information that was developed about individuals using the Bronxville Trustco Bank located at 5-7 Park Place to make fraudulent bank transactions.
Police said checks stolen from the mail were being deposited into accounts opened with fake documents, and subsequently, withdrawals were being made from the accounts.
Two Bronx men — Chaz Broadnax, 26, and Andrew Barrington, 29 — were arrested April 13 and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. A bank manager reported that Barrington tried to complete a transaction using a fraudulent check in the amount of $13,963.

Police said the check in possession of the two men is believed to have been stolen from the mail.
The men were arraigned and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Also on April 13, Antoinette Williams, 29, of the Bronx, was arrested after withdrawing $9,800 from an account opened with fraudulent documents.
She was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and third-degree grand larceny, felonies.
Taylor Williams, 29, of the Bronx was charged with two counts of third-degree grand larceny for withdrawing $7,506 April 6 from an account opened with fraudulent documents. He was also charged for his role in withdrawing the $9,800 April 13.

Police said that a further investigation led to an additional charge for Antoinette Williams of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. She allegedly went into the Trustco Bank April 3 and deposited a $51,749.76 check that was stolen from the mail into a bank account opened with fake documents.
During surveillance of mail boxes by the Bronxville police around 4:25 a.m. May 5, a black SUV approached a U.S. Postal Service mailbox and a person got out of the vehicle.
He began to steal mail from the mail box and get back into the SUV, police said.
Police arrested Leovigildo Ramos, 24, and Jordy Bulgos, 17, both of the Bronx.

They were charged with third-degree grand larceny.
Police said Bulgo was in possession of a U.S. Postal arrow key, which is a master key that can open collection boxes.
A third subject — a juvenile — was also taken into custody and later released to a parent.
Finally, on May 22, as a result of the ongoing investigation, Bronxville detectives arrested Toniann Stahl, 27, outside her residence in the Bronx.

She was charged with third-degree grand larceny.
Police said she went into the Trustco Bank March 3 and deposited a check stolen from the mail in the amount of $14,697.65.
