Week 8 is an exhibition that reveals a cross section of creative activity at Ox-Bow school of art and artists' residency. Exhibiting artists who participated in the 8th week of its 11 week summer session in 2010 will be featured here at Sarah Lawrence College. Ox-Bow has been in operation for 100 years, and was founded in 1910 as a refuge from the newly industrialized city of Chicago. Currently, Ox-Bow is more than a retreat away from urban life, it serves a way for artists to tap in to a community of like-minded thinkers and makers, whose practices pioneer new genres while they mine traditional modes of art making.
