Giorgio Vasari was a classic renaissance man, skilled in painting, sculpting, and writing. He is most well-known and influential for his written history of art; however, he is also renowned for his architectural feats, designing many buildings for the Medici family. During the Renaissance, the Swiss Guard was known for their valor and became a staple if many European Courts. Pope Julius II established them in the Vatican and helped shape Italy's destiny. Both of these subjects will be covered in this informative lecture. Presented byToni McKeen.
