Sherwin-Williams in Eastchester Partners with FSW's Big Brothers Big Sisters
The Mount Vernon Recreation Department's Senior Center Got a Fresh Coat of Paint from the Community Partnership
In March, Desiree Killian, Assistant Manager from the Sherwin-Williams store in Eastchester located at 360 White Plains Road reached out to FSW’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program with a partnership idea for their National Painting Week. During this annual week, Sherwin-Williams looks to partner with local charitable organizations to donate paint and employee manpower to refresh spaces and give back to local communities. BBBS and Sherwin-Williams together identified The Mount Vernon Recreation Department’s Senior Center as a place that could benefit from a fresh coat of paint. This is a location where BBBS has hosted events in the past. Mount Vernon Recreation Department’s Senior programming generously donated breakfast and lunch for all participants. DJ Static, a BBBS resident DJ, kept the energy level up with dance tunes throughout the day. There were many volunteers that included Sherwin-William employees, BBBS Bigs, Littles, volunteers, parents and Advisory Council members.
