Tuckahoe Police Blotter: Two Accidents Involving School Buses on Wallace Ave.

A look at some of the incidents investigated by the Tuckahoe Police Department.

Feb. 3:

10:38 a.m. Police received a call from the manager of Epstein’s on Columbus Avenue about cashiers possibly taking money from the registers, police said. Upon investigation, including reviewing video footage, police found that a total of $564.68 had been taken on one day, police said. Police said the money was returned and two cashiers were fired.

9:25 p.m. A 16-year-old Yonkers resident was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. According to police, a large group of about 30 teens, mostly from the Bronx and Yonkers, were at the Crestwood train station after a basketball game between Iona Prep and Stepinac high schools. The teen allegedly hit a car, was combative with police and ran off when approached by an officer, according to police.

11:24 a.m. The owner of a Lexus GX460 reported that the car had been damaged while parked overnight on Main Street, police said. According to police, the left front fender was scratched and it and the and bumper were cracked and pulled forward.

Feb. 7: 

7:33 a.m. There was an accident involving a Tuckahoe High School bus and a parked Volkswagen Jetta on Wallace Street, police said. According to police, there was snow piled up on the curb. Police said there was no damage to the bus, but the Jetta had damage to the driver’s side door, rear panel and bumper. A student on the bus complained of neck pain and the parent, who was notified, said they would take the student to Lawrence Hospital, police said.

8:08 a.m. There was an accident involving another Tuckahoe High School bus and a parked Hyundai on Wallace Street, police said. According to police, there were no injuries.

Feb. 8: 

6:05 p.m. A woman reported to police that she had parked her Subaru Legacy on Main Street and when she came back two hours later, the driver’s side mirror was off, police said.

Feb. 9: 

10:25 a.m. Police received a call from a woman reporting she had gotten a phone call from someone claiming to be her granddaughter, who was looking for $3,000 because she had been involved in a car accident in Canada, police said. Police told the woman that it’s most likely a scam and that if she was still suspicious she should check with her granddaughter.

12:32 p.m. Police received a call that someone had taken $10 in change from a 2010 Toyota on Yonkers Avenue, police said. The car was believed to have been unlocked, police said.
