Milk Bar Is Closing In Brooklyn (patch.com) — Beloved neighborhood cafe Milk Bar is shutting both its Prospect Heights and Park Slope locations by year's end, ending nearly twenty years in Brooklyn. Owner Kylie Sachs says the cafes will stay open through fall and into winter as closing dates are finalized, and hopes the Vanderbilt Avenue and Sixth Avenue storefronts will be "reimagined" for future neighborhood use.
   

2. Woman Found Dead Near Belt Parkway, Police Say (patch.com) — A woman was found dead near the Belt Parkway and Knapp Street in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon, where police pronounced her at the scene. The medical examiner will determine how she died, and investigators are still working to identify her and learn what happened, with no arrests reported so far.
   

3. More Than 50 Affordable Housing Units Preserved In Brooklyn: What To Know (patch.com) — Affordable housing tenants in Bedford-Stuyvesant are getting long-term stability after state and city officials helped preserve four Brooklyn buildings with 57 affordable units, now being taken over by IMPACCT Brooklyn. The apartments will stay affordable for at least 30 more years, backed by a state acquisition loan and city rehab funding that aim to keep low- and moderate-income residents in their homes.

Art exhibition honors community lost in devastating Red Hook warehouse fire 1 year ago (abc7ny.com) — Artists from the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition are marking one year since the devastating Red Hook warehouse fire with a reflective exhibition in Sunset Park. The show explores loss, memory, and recovery through interactive works, while the group works to secure a new permanent space and keep their creative community together in Brooklyn.
