Brooklyn Assembly Member Announces Community Blood Drive During National Blood Donor Month
New York State Assembly Member Brian Cunningham announced a community blood drive with SUNY Downstate and the New York Blood Center.
BROOKLYN, NY — New York State Assembly Member Brian Cunningham, who represents Brooklyn’s 43rd Assembly District, announced a partnership with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and the New York Blood Center to host a community blood drive in observance of National Blood Donor Month.
The blood drive was originally scheduled to take place over two days, Jan. 26 and 27, from noon to 6 p.m. Cunningham said the Jan. 26 drive was canceled due to inclement weather, while the Jan. 27 drive will proceed as planned.
Community members are encouraged to donate blood to help support the region’s blood supply, which often experiences shortages during the winter months. National Blood Donor Month, observed each January, highlights the ongoing need for blood donations nationwide.
