ICE Protestor Arrested After Crowd Blocks Brooklyn Intersection
NYPD issues criminal summons after protest blocks traffic.
BROOKLYN, NY — Reports of an ICE operation drew a crowd of protesters that blocked traffic Broadway in Fort Greene on Feb. 24, and one ended up in custody, police said.
Officers received a report of people unlawfully occupying the roadway and obstructing vehicular traffic near Washington and Willoughby streets, according to a NYPD spokesperson.
Officers instructed the group to disperse multiple times, according to police. Most complied, but one individual refused to leave the street and was taken into custody. That person was issued a criminal summons.

Police did not immediately provide additional details about the federal operation or whether anyone was injured. The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
