88-Year-Old Brownsville Woman Raped By Ex-Con: Police, Reports
Selwyn Worrell stands accused of raping an elderly Brownsville woman in her home Wednesday, according to police and reports.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN β An ex-con tied up an elderly woman and raped her in the basement of her Brownsville home, according to police and reports.
Selwyn Worrell, 24, stands accused of raping an 88-year-old woman inside her Vermont Street home at about 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, according to police and a Daily News report.
Worrell allegedly broke into the woman's home, tied her hands together, then forced her into the basement where he raped her, police said.

The woman's Life Alert button triggered a police response and Worrell was arrested near Livonia and Sheffield avenues, said police.
Worrell, who was convicted of attempted burglary in 2015, was charged with rape, sexually motivated assault and burglary, according to police.
