Benz Driver Throws Molotov Cocktail Into Brownsville Street: NYPD

Two men in a Mercedes-Benz are suspected of throwing a bottle of flammable liquid into a Brownsville street, said police.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for two men who threw a Molotov cocktail onto a Brownsville street and fled in a Mercedes-Benz.

Two suspects chucked a bottle of flammable liquid at a parked SUV on Hinsdale Street near Dumont Avenue at about 8:25 p.m. Monday, said police.

The bottle bounced off the windshield and landed on the street, under a parked sedan, where it burst into flames, police said.

The pair — who wore black hoodies and dark jeans — then sped away in their black Mercedes-Benz SUV westbound on Dumont Avenue , said police.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the blaze before anyone was injured, said police.

Police released a photo of the getaway car on Wednesday and asked anyone with information about the incident to contact police.
