Brooklyn Cop Charged With Choking Wife, Police Say
NYPD officer Jeffrey Stewart was arrested on strangulation charges in Brownsville Saturday, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN -- A Brooklyn cop stands accused of choking his wife in their Brownsville home, according to police.
NYPD officer Jeffrey Stewart, 41, was arrested for choking his 38-year-old wife in Brownsville at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning, according to police.
The domestic violence case was heard in Brooklyn Criminal Court Saturday when Stewart was arraigned on charges of strangulation, assault, harassment and menacing then released on his own recognizance, court records show.

Stewart's wife was not hospitalized after the incident, police said.
The Brooklyn cop is expected to return to court on March 26, court records show.
